activities at feuerstein nature family resort

Hiking and biking trails leave directly from the resort into the Pflerschtal valley. Guide Robert Alpögger leads walks through spruce forest toward the Ladurns cable car. The equestrian centre runs riding lessons for children and adults, with pony rides in the paddock. Winter brings ski touring from the doorstep and a toboggan slope in the hotel garden. The Ladurns ski area is four kilometres away, reachable by hotel shuttle. An ice rink replaces the football pitch when snow arrives.

The swimming lake opens June through October, heated to around 28 degrees with a floating raft. A padel court sits on site. The Nature Pirates programme teaches wildlife tracking and nature crafts. Yoga with Paul and Michaela, Pilates with Kathrin, and incense meditation with herbalist Brigitta fill the weekly schedule. Cooking lessons, wine tastings, and gin nights round out the evenings.

Gastronomy

Artifex is led by Executive Chef Andrea Moccia, who grew up in Campania and now cooks at 1,300 metres in the South Tyrolean Alps. Two tasting menus anchor the evening. 'Altitude' draws entirely from the Pflerschtal valley, using free-range eggs from Marginterhof farm, vegetables from Lenzen farm, and arctic char hand-smoked with apple-juniper wood at Salmone Dolomiti. 'World Journey' moves further afield but always returns to a South Tyrolean element.

Cheese arrives from the Genussbunker, a wartime cave at constant 10 degrees where fromelier Hubert Stockner ages his wheels without any external energy. Herbs from Bernhard Auckenthaler's Botenhof farm at 1,250 metres appear in breakfast tea, post-yoga infusions, evening dishes, and grappa at the bar. Moccia calls the cooking 'a tribute to the moment, honest, refined, deeply rooted and at the same time cosmopolitan.'

Wellness

The adults-only Mountain Spa spans four floors designed as a metaphorical mountain ascent. The ground floor holds a stone pine sauna, bio sauna, and steam bath. Relaxation rooms with mountain views fill the first floor. The Finnish sauna on the second floor runs above 90 degrees with regular Aufgusse infusion rituals. The roof terrace crowns the climb with a whirlpool, pool, and panoramic views of the rock massifs. The entire zone is textile-free and phone-free.

Four indoor pools serve different ages and purposes. The baby pool holds 34 degrees. The didactic pool hosts swimming lessons for children from age four. The action pool connects to a 100-metre speed slide with a stopwatch. The outdoor infinity pool, called The View, stretches 20 metres long at 31 degrees, fed by mountain spring water. Treatments use Team Dr Joseph natural cosmetics and Phyto Art products. The Revitalising Swiss Stone Pine Massage uses Zirbe sticks. Long Sauna Nights extend twice weekly until 23:00.

Sustainability at Feuerstein Nature Family Resort

Feuerstein treats nature as its most important partner. Zero-kilometre sourcing defines daily operations. Eggs come from Marginterhof in Gossensass. Vegetables grow at Lenzen farm in Ausserpflersch. Herbs arrive from the Botenhof at 1,250 metres. Cheese ripens in the Genussbunker cave at constant 10 degrees, using no external energy for climate control. Meat comes from nearby Pfitsch Valley.

The resort's own children's skincare line, Pure, uses alpine medicinal herbs and South Tyrolean spring water, developed with Dr. Garber Cosmetics. The natural bathing pond and swimming lake integrate into the alpine landscape without heavy infrastructure. Treatments rely on certified natural and organic cosmetics from Team Dr Joseph. The philosophy extends to the weekly programme: herb walks, incense meditation with herbalist Brigitta, and cooking lessons that teach guests what grows in the valley.
