Flem Mountain Lodge sits ten minutes on foot from the Flims cable car station, at the edge of Flimserwald forest. Anita and Caro Gehrig run 23 rooms built around a simple idea: your mountain adventure starts here. The garden holds a handcrafted iglu sauna you won't find anywhere else. A cold bath follows the Wim Hof method. Beds are deep. The atmosphere is gemütlich, alpine, unpretentious.
Everything here serves the active traveller. A bike cellar, workshop, and wash station sit downstairs. Specialized Turbo Levo 4 e-bikes are free to test on stays of two nights or more. In winter, a free ski shuttle runs to the valley station. The Lodge-Küche feeds you seasonal dishes Thursday through Sunday. This is a base camp, not a resort.

Lodge-Küche opens as a cafe by day. Soups, salads, Pinsa, and cakes come out fresh, all from regional products. Barista coffee runs from morning through afternoon. Thursday to Sunday evenings, the kitchen shifts gears. Creative, seasonal dishes take over, trending and playful. The menu changes with what the region grows and the season brings.
Breakfast is a rich buffet of regional produce. The restaurant closes Monday and Tuesday, giving the small team time to reset. Reservations for dinner run through the Aleno booking system. The spirit is simple: regional food, best coffee, no fuss.

The handcrafted iglu sauna sits in the lodge garden, built with care and open to six guests at a time. Book a private session between 20:00 and 22:00, at least 12 hours in advance. After the heat, a cold bath follows the Wim Hof method. The combination of sauna warmth and ice-cold immersion is what the Gehrigs call their signature wellness ritual.
Daniela Pipos runs the on-site massage studio. Sessions are bookable online. Bring your own bathrobe for the sauna. The iglu opened in winter 2024 and remains something you won't find at another lodge in Flims Laax.

Flem Mountain Lodge holds Swisstainable 'committed' certification and appears on the Ginto sustainable travel guide. The Gehrigs encourage arrival by public transport and keep sourcing local, from the breakfast buffet to the evening kitchen.
Guests staying three or more nights travel free by public transport to Swiss Parks between August and October. Regional food sourcing shapes every meal. The approach is practical: fewer food miles, less waste, and a lodge that fits its alpine setting rather than fighting it.
