Gastronomy

Terrassen opened in summer 2025 as part of Hotel J's renovation. The restaurant sits within the hotel's renewed ground floor. Details on the menu and kitchen team are still emerging. What is clear is the guiding principle: nature and the changing seasons shape what ends up on the plate. Tea ceremonies flavoured by surrounding plants close out forest bathing walks. A wild coffee break accompanies group sessions in the woods.

Tornvillan sauna is open to hotel guests daily from 8am to 10pm, included in every stay. Panoramabastun is the panoramic sea-view sauna, privately bookable for up to 15 people. Guided sauna ceremonies there use fresh herbs, heat waves, and breathwork. After either sauna, the sea is steps away. Guests swim year-round from the jetty or the cliffs. An outdoor shower faces the open horizon.

Paviljongen hosts private sessions: gong baths, reiki, breathwork, yoga, and tea ceremonies. The meditation room holds gongs and floor mats. The gym stocks Pilates reformers built from wood, leather, and metal. Remedy at J is the hotel's flexible concept, shaping wellness around each guest. Recovery here happens in step with nature.

Sustainability at Hotel J

Hotel J's three-year renovation with Wingardhs was built around reuse. Helena Toresson directed the redesign of 158 rooms using reclaimed elements, natural colours, and materials that age well. The approach treated what already existed as a resource, not waste.

Gym equipment is made from wood, leather, and metal rather than plastic. The wellness philosophy frames recovery as something that happens in step with nature, not against it. Seasons set the rhythm for design, food, and daily programming. Sustainability here is woven into the building itself, not bolted on as an afterthought.
