Family Room (Sleeps Four)
A room configured to sleep four guests, sharing the lodge's design ethos of natural materials and mountain views.
Vall d'Incles, Andorra
A four-room lodge converted from a Pyrenean hay barn at the end of Vall d'Incles, where the road disappears under snow each winter and strangers share natural wine by a hanging fireplace.

The building stored tractors and hay until 2017, when Prisca Llagostera walked three kilometres through snow on snowshoes and fell in love. She planned the renovation herself, adding walls and room divisions to create just four guest rooms. Wooden floors, wooden walls, wooden chairs circle a sleek hanging fireplace at the centre of everything. The road into Vall d'Incles closes to cars in winter. A snowcat called La Fiera brings you in.
L'Ovella Negra is a Design Hotels member built on a simple idea: down-to-earth goodness. Llagostera grew up in Andorra, drew hotels in her diary from age eight, and worked VIP events in London and New York before becoming a hotelier. The lodge pulls in mountain people, foodies, wine lovers, mushroom pickers. Four rooms means everyone ends up around the fire. The intimate scale turns guests into storytellers.
Hiking trails leave directly from the front door. Routes to Cabana Sorda, Siscaró, Juclar, Fontargent, and Isla climb into high Pyrenean terrain. Guided hikes run with a local expert. Two lodge bikes stand ready for valley rides, and mountain bike trails at multiple levels start from the property. Skiz 1700 rents mountain bikes and ski gear nearby.
Grandvalira sits five kilometres away, the largest ski resort in southern Europe. Off-piste skiing and ski touring start from the doorstep. Helicopter skiing is available. The lodge lends snowshoes for guided or solo routes through the valley. On slow days, reading nooks, board games, and the hanging fireplace fill the hours. Spring and autumn are best for doing nothing at all.

The Lodge Canteen serves hearty Andorran mountain food by candlelight year-round. Warming stews, local cuts, and seasonal dishes follow what the valley produces. Winter meals are heavy and slow. Summer plates lighten with fresh produce from the surrounding hills.
When warm weather arrives, the Xiringuito opens outdoors. This pop-up kitchen serves Andorran classics after long days on the trail. Prisca Llagostera's husband produces natural wines, and bottles appear at every table. The canteen seats few. Conversations carry across the room.
The lodge operates at a scale that limits its footprint by design. Four rooms, one fireplace, a seasonal kitchen using valley ingredients. The building itself is a renovation, not a new build, repurposing a Pyrenean farming structure rather than breaking ground.
No formal sustainability certifications are on record. The remoteness of Vall d'Incles and the absence of car access in winter naturally reduce traffic and energy demand. Seasonal closures let the landscape recover.
Dark oak floors, mohair blankets, cement walls, and black matte fixtures give the rooms the feel of old Andorran mountain cabins — raw materials, warm light, and valley or forest views through every window. Double rooms sleeping two come with king or twin beds; a mezzanine quadruple opens onto a private balcony; a family room shares the same stripped-back design ethos.
