A Michelin Green Star restaurant and hotel at Palacio de Rubianes, where siblings Esther and Nacho Manzano cook from the palace vegetable garden in the heart of Asturias.

Narbasu sits within the grounds of Palacio de Rubianes, a palace estate in Piloña, Asturias. Three Biosphere Reserves ring the valley: Picos de Europa, Ponga, and Redes. The Sierra del Sueve rises to the north. Rows of vegetables grow across the estate garden, feeding the restaurant and the Manzano siblings' other kitchens. The air smells of damp green hills and woodsmoke.
Esther and Nacho Manzano opened Casa Marcial in 1993. Three decades later, the same conviction drives Narbasu: cook with the seasons, know every ingredient intimately, support the farmers and artisans who grow them. They call this common sense, not philosophy. The estate garden was the first commitment, before any room was furnished. Every plate traces back to the land outside the window.
Hiking trails of all levels start from the surrounding Biosphere Reserves. Picos de Europa, Ponga Natural Park, and Redes Natural Park each lie within reach. The Sierra del Sueve adds ridgeline routes for stronger legs. Electric bikes rent from reception at EUR 25 for a half day or EUR 40 for a full day.
Cycling and mountain biking routes are shared through the hotel's Strava and Wikiloc profiles. Guided buggy tours cross the Piloña mountains, from scenic drives to steeper terrain. At Bosque Escondido, a few minutes away, forest bathing and yoga sessions run subject to availability.

The palace vegetable garden stretches across the estate. Fruits and vegetables travel from soil to kitchen the same morning. Esther and Nacho Manzano cook what grows, following the rhythm of the Asturian seasons. The cuisine is rooted in tradition, homemade, comforting, and deeply connected to the land around Piloña.
Three formats shape the table: a la carte, a Traditional Menu, and the Narbasu Menu. Farmers, ranchers, and artisans across Asturias supply what the garden cannot. These relationships stretch back decades, some predating Casa Marcial. The restaurant serves dinner Monday and Tuesday, lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. A Michelin Green Star and 1 Sol from Guia Repsol 2026 mark the kitchen's commitment.
Sustainability at Narbasu began with the soil. Before a single guest arrived, Esther and Nacho Manzano dedicated a large portion of the Palacio de Rubianes estate to a working vegetable garden. Cooking with the seasons and sourcing locally is what they call common sense, a founding conviction carried forward from Casa Marcial in 1993.
The garden supplies not only Narbasu but also Casa Marcial, Gloria, and Nastura. Long-standing relationships with Asturian farmers, ranchers, and artisans keep rural supply chains alive. The Michelin Green Star recognizes this approach. Every purchasing decision aims to supply Narbasu with the best of Asturias and continue contributing to rural development.
