Naturhotel Rainer sits in Val di Giovo, a quiet alpine valley in the Racines area of South Tyrol. The Stubai Alps form the backdrop. Owner Kathrin Rainer's family has historic roots in this valley. The hotel is small, personal, and runs across all four seasons. Guests hike in summer, ski in winter, and cycle the valley roads between.
Sustainability is not an add-on here. It is embedded in the hotel's name and daily life. As a Vitalpina member, Naturhotel Rainer ties its identity to the alpine landscape it occupies. Head chef Hannes Rainer, trained in a 3-Michelin-starred kitchen, builds his menus around what nature gives. The adults-only onsen pool, the forest sauna, the cedar-lined sauna with mountain views, they all point the same direction. Toward the valley, toward stillness.
