Uderns, Austria
A 33-room Alpine boutique hotel at the end of Green 9, where championship golf, Tyrolean gastronomy, and a rooftop Sky Sauna meet the Zillertal mountains.

The hotel's address tells the story. Golfstrasse 1 sits directly on the 18-hole championship course of Golf Club Zillertal-Uderns. Step outside and you are on the fairways. The infinity pool holds 32 degrees year-round, aimed straight at the mountains. Interiors are lined with Zirbenholz (Swiss pine), puristic forms, and exclusive textiles. Thirty-three rooms. No corridors of identical doors.
Sportresidenz Zillertal functions as the de facto clubhouse at the end of Green 9. A recent renovation added a rooftop Sky Sauna, a wine cellar beside reception, and a co-working space. Between Hochzillertal and Spieljoch ski areas, the valley position works in every season. Crisp mountain air, championship golf, and a kitchen rooted in Tyrolean farming traditions share one compact property.
Golf Unlimited is included in every stay. The 18-hole course of Golf Club Zillertal-Uderns starts outside the door, with a covered driving range, PAR 3 short game holes, and PGA golf school on site. An indoor golf simulator covers rainy days. Hiking trails leave from the hotel. The St. Pankraz circular walk runs 5.9 km in under two hours. Longer routes on the Zillertaler Hohenstrasse reach 2,020 metres, crossing peaks like Marchkopf and Wetterkreuzspitze. Free mountain bikes and e-bikes are available at reception. The Zillertal Cycle Path follows the Ziller river for 30.5 km. In winter, a free private shuttle runs to Hochzillertal and Spieljoch from 08:30 to 16:30. Sunrise Yoga on the mountain departs Wednesdays and Fridays at 07:15.

Genusswerkstatt sits at the end of Green 9, its sun terrace overlooking the fairways. Chef Jochen Popp cooks new interpretations of down-to-earth Tyrolean dishes with modern and Mediterranean touches. Game comes from local hunting grounds. Milk and cheese arrive from Zillertal farmers. Breakfast brings fresh farm produce and a la minute egg dishes. Dinner is a six-course choice menu with a fresh salad buffet. Gourmet half-board is included in every stay. A wine cellar opened in December 2024 beside reception, described by the hotel as small but very fine. The Bar and Wine Lounge pours wines from Austria's best growing regions alongside freshly tapped beer from a regional brewery.
CLOUD 7 spans over 1,000 square metres across three levels linked by a Zen garden. The rooftop Sky Sauna runs at 90 degrees with panoramic views over the golf course and Zillertal peaks. A Finnish sauna at 90 degrees, a Bio sauna at 55 degrees, and a sole (salt) steam bath occupy the lower floors. The heated outdoor infinity pool holds approximately 32 degrees year-round. Swim toward the mountains. A rooftop whirlpool opens in warmer months. In summer, the natural swimming pond offers 20-24 degree water from a wooden bathing jetty with sunbeds. Hydrojet overwater massage runs 25 minutes on a waterbed for 20 euros. Premium Swiss Pine Suites include a private infrared cabin and Swiss pine sauna in-room.
Sustainability at Sportresidenz Zillertal takes the form of concrete, property-level actions rather than broad pledges. Solar panels on the hotel roof supply the entire building with green electricity. A 100% electric shuttle bus collects guests from Uderns and Jenbach stations.
Single-use felt spa slippers have been replaced with reusable bath shoes, disinfected between guests. Room toiletries are refillable. Cleaning products carry sustainability certifications. Guest spa bags are handcrafted in Germany from 100% biodegradable materials, including organic cotton, latex, and natural pigments. E-charging stations by da-emobil serve electric vehicles on site.
